Test the kit. Give the verdict.
Club golfers testing kit for four weeks on their own courses. Your name, your handicap and your verdict, published next to Paul's. The first tests start as brands come on board. Free to apply, and early applicants are first in line.
Four steps from the sofa to the verdict.
We pick testers by fit, not luck: a spread of handicaps and the right golfer for each product.

Tell us your handicap, your club, what's in your bag and what you'd love to test. Two minutes.
Get picked
When a test comes up that suits your game, we'll be in touch. Paul welcomes every new tester personally.
Test for four weeks
Real rounds, real weather, real bad days. Then a short scorecard: what you liked, what you didn't, would you buy it.

Worth it or Not for me, published with your first name and handicap next to Paul's.
Your name on it.
Every verdict shows who tested, what they play off and who paid for the kit. When a brand sent it, we say so. The stamp goes on either way, and the misses get published too.

A new driver, four weeks on.
"Long when I found the middle, but I lost too many to the right. Not for my swing."
Same driver. Same four weeks. Two handicaps.
Same kit, same four weeks, two handicaps. That's the point of a panel.
Pull up a chair at the panel table.
Places are limited for each test. If you're not picked this time, you stay on the list for the next one.
We only use your details to run the Test Panel and, if you say yes, to send you The Deft Notes. See the Test Panel terms and privacy notice.
Before you apply
Does it cost anything?
No. Applying is free and testers don't pay for test kit.
What handicap do I need?
Any. We want a spread, from single figures to the high twenties, so verdicts reflect golfers like you.
How are testers picked?
By fit, not by prize draw. For each test we look for the golfers the kit is actually sold to.
What does four weeks of testing involve?
Use the kit in your normal rounds and jot down short notes. At the end you fill in a scorecard and give your verdict.
Will my name be published?
Your first name, initial and handicap appear with your verdict, with your permission. That's what makes the panel worth trusting.
Do I keep the kit?
It depends on the test. We'll always tell you before you agree to take part.
Can a brand change my verdict?
Never. Brands can send kit and sponsor a series, but they can't touch a verdict. It's in writing in every agreement.
